Another night of hard freeze ahead.

Supposed to be 19 tonight. And a high of 75 on Saturday. What the heck is up with that?
I think I've mentioned the 'cow bowl' before. If I remember right, it holds roughly 800 gallons of water. Hubby has always used it to put extra fishing minnows in.
And there has been a frog living in it.

However after two days below freezing, this is what the cow bowl looks like now.

The only clear water is where the faucet is running to keep the pipe from freezing. We use a 60 watt bulb to keep the pump from freezing in the pump house. So we will be stocking up on those bulbs before the stupid government phases them out this year.

I almost forgot. In spite of all this cold?

Hope you are all warm and safe. You are in my thoughts and prayers. ♥

What a Difference a Day Makes

Well, a day and a high of 55.

You remember the snow I posted in my last post?
Here are a couple of pictures today.

Either Monday or Tuesday, we're going to have a nighttime low of 19 freaking degrees!
This is supposed to be the deep south. I wish I could bottle this cold for next summer's heat! :-)

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! ♥

Central Louisiana

So much for no chance of snow.
Everything is closed tomorrow and parts of the interstate (all overpasses) are closed. Last word was the bridges were still open, but if they have ice on them like I know is on my steps under the snow, I expect they could close, too.

Wish I could send some of this down under and get some of that heat right now.

Have a safe Friday and stay warm! ♥

Another thing I found funny

As some of you probably know, I am retired Air Force. We were on base today (closest base is about 2 hours away, so we don't go very often); anyway, I was looking around the Shopette while hubby fueled the truck.

And I found something that made me laugh out loud. I had to buy one. It is so military; but it also made me think of the... boxes that the government used to give families when I was growing up, when your dad was out of work.
Anyway, what was this item?

This...

Hahahahaha!

A single slice serving of SPAM!

No SPAM in a can. Just rip the package open and eat. ;-)
And what made me think of those boxes when I was growing up, is that this slice is larger than you normally get in a can. Just like the big blocks of processed meat they gave away back in the 50's.

Yes, I am easily amused.

Blogger has been having lots of problems, lately. Hope this posts.

Take care, stay warm, be blessed. ♥

Almost the first weekend of the New Year

Remember these last pictures of our kitchen?

Well, we are making a little progress. Here is what part of it looks like now.

We got the first couple wall cabinets in, and that's the hood we were putting in when I kept the two pieces of wall. :-)

Yes, I know, the bulbs don't fit. In all the months between when we bought the hood, and put it in, we don't know what happened to the bulbs we bought to go with it, haha! So we are making do with regular light bulbs.

It is almost the first weekend of the New Year. The weather is cold for this part of the country.

I hope all my readers have a wonderful weekend! ♥
