Grissom Air Museum -End
Going to try to end it here, so it may get picture heavy.
This plane was being cleaned, I think. Hubby saw someone inside it, anyway.
There were a few pictures from inside, but the planes were the highlight. We were glad we stopped. It was a nice change from the driving home.
You all be safe and have a blessed day.

Grissom Air Museum, Part II
Hubby and I miss the Air Force; though specifically we miss SAC and Beale AFB. We both think the government was wrong to disband SAC. You never would have had a nuke lost. It just wouldn't happen.
Anyway, here are more pictures from the museum.
If you click on the pictures, they should expand. I don't know if you can see the spikes on the tail of this F-4. They are at the top of the red on the tail. I think the gray of the cloud highlights them well enough. Hubby said they put them there to keep the birds off. The birds find the gaps though, and that means they need to clean the planes a lot, haha.
If you remember the monument in my last post. This is the plane type it was associated with.
And I am going to end with the A-10 Warthog. I was glad to hear they are going to bring them out of mothballs. So much cheaper than designing some new piece of junk that will have cost overruns before it is off the drawing table.
There will undoubtedly be another post about this museum. It was a nice day and there was a lot to see.
You all be safe and God bless!

Grissom Air Museum.
We miss SAC.
It had rained a lot before we got there, apparently, as there was standing water in the grass, so we stayed to the path for the most part.
These are just a few of the pictures. I'll post more later.

So I haven't been posting much.
Now that we are retired, it is hard to share stuff. Partly because we are mostly private people. Partly because what makes us... happy, is just the usual daily stuff that I don't feel a need to share. But I will try to make a post anyway.
The end of June we went to Michigan to visit my mother. She will be 84 next month. Her knee was bothering her, so we just visited. We did take her a perch dinner from a favorite seafood restaurant. Whitlow's Forerunner Restaurant.
I should add that this is not my picture. I forgot to take one. This is from their Faceless Book page.
We thought about trying to do some fishing, but they have some sort of vehicle license you have to purchase now to fish certain places, and the fish weren't biting in the Muskegon channel. It was pretty windy, so we just chalked that part of the trip up to not this time.
We stopped in to see one of my 5 brothers and his wife, too. Was nice to visit with them.
As we were leaving Michigan, we stopped for brunch at an interesting little restaurant.
Log House Restaurant. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't a real log building; but the food was fantastic! Hubby had breakfast and I had lunch and it was all great. I can't recommend it enough. If you are ever in Argos, Indiana, stop in for a meal. You won't regret it.
The only other part of the trip I took pictures of, was our stop at the Grissom AFB (or whatever they are calling it now) Air Museum. I will probably do that in another post as it is very picture intensive.
I will share one picture though.
Be safe and God bless America.
