We ate some more great crawfish this weekend.
Next time I should get a picture of the Bananas Foster Cheesecake they have for desert. Oh wow! Good stuff!
It is Elderberry season. Well, almost. :)
It was pretty sunny this morning when I took the picture, so sorry for the quality. Maybe I'll get a picture later in the day next time.
The pecan 'flowers' have all turned brown and most have fallen off. This picture is from one of the older trees I call the Christmas pecan tree, because the pecans are pretty much always bigger and heavier than the others so they make good Christmas presents.
Hard to believe we have to wait until the end of September or October before we can eat them. :)
The magnolia trees are blooming everywhere down here.
All the blooms are way over my head so that's the best I could get.
And we found 3 turtles in different places in the pasture that were laying eggs.
You can click the pictures to make them bigger.
It is definitely summer here. Low to mid 90s for the last week and the next to come. Just means we are a week closer to fall. ;-)
You all be safe and God bless. ♥

Not much to talk about
Summer is here. No spring this year. Oh well. Just means fall will be here sooner. (A girl can hope!)
But I will share some photos, because it is easier than posting.
Around the yard.
Been a good year for wild black berries. :)
The glimmer in the pecan tree's mind?
Hopefully we get enough figs this year that we can get a few before the birds, wasps and whatever else likes fresh figs. :)
Heading out on the road tomorrow. Going to Livingston, LA, for a couple nights and to hit the flea markets this weekend. :)
Should be okay to leave the boys here alone. They'll probably be as happy that we are gone, as we will be to get away for a bit. :)
You all be safe and have a wonderful, blessed weekend. ♥

Because March is almost over
and I should post something.
Hubby and I went out for crawfish yesterday. A place called Robbie G's. (No relation, I asked last time. ;-) )
We tried one of the appetizers. Broccoli Cheese bites. They were really good, just a little too much cheese. But did I say they were really good?
And of course in crawfish season, we had crawfish, too.
Going to Lafayette tomorrow to make the rounds. Supposed to be in the 80s with no rain until sometime next week. :)
Be safe. I hope you all have a blessed weekend. ♥

Not a big post.
And no pictures; but hubby is continuing to improve. Praise God! :)
There is a flea market in Greenwood, Louisiana that we haven't been to in months because hubby hasn't been able to walk well enough to go. We went today and we walked about a mile. He didn't need to take a break to sit down, and was able to stop and look at things, or talk to people.
When we got back to our van, he commented that he felt really good.
I thank the good Lord and all your prayers and thoughts for that.
Be safe and God bless.

Almost mid March!
Took the middle son out for crawfish for his birthday (which isn't until Sunday; but this restaurant isn't open on Sunday); he got the biggest crawfish of all we ate. :)
(Okay, we all went, including youngest son. He doesn't go out much unless we make him. ;-) )
Some photos from around the farm.
Blackberries will be ready soon.
Wildflowers have bloomed even with the cold.
I recorded this yesterday. Fairly big woodpecker. I thought maybe a pileated woodpecker in that oak tree; but I never saw it, so I don't know.
Anyway, that's it from my little piece of Louisiana. Stay warm, stay dry, be safe, and God bless. ♥
