About Me

Retired, housewife, mother of three. Picking up the pieces after God decided the 145 year old farmhouse was no longer the house for us. Praise God for His mercy and love!

So it wasn't too bad.

Roasted the duck on the grill as we haven't replaced the stove yet. Other priorities. It turned out... okay. Hubby thought it was kind of bland. Probably because I've never fixed one and didn't really know how to do it. I did put apples in it. And I heated the packet of orange sauce that came with it and poured it over the duck.
I also baked potatoes on the grill to go with it. It was okay, but not great.
I think it's probably one of those things that's best when it's first cooked and not reheated, so I'm going to give the leftovers to the cats if they'll eat it.

We went to Fayetteville today to try and register our new to us vehicle at Pope AFB, but they don't do registrations on the weekend any more. Mostly because of BRAC. They are being phased out. Such a loss.
So I'll have to do it Monday at Cherry Point instead. Oh well.

Haven't exactly heard from the youngest since he went to Navy basic training at Great Lakes last week, but we did get a generic packet with graduation info and a line that said he missed us. :)
We're very proud of him. It was strange to realize that he's at the same base my dad went to when he joined the Navy in WWII.

That's about all I can think of for now. Have a great week!
