Will try to post pictures soon.
We've been a little busy. Not just working on the house but trying to enjoy retirement.
I don't have the online time I had when hubby worked a paying job out of the home. I usually only get an hour or three in the evening before bed and I use that time to read and comment on your blogs. ;o)
The rest of my time is spent with the hubby.
So, sorry about that.
We've had the kitchen measured for counters.
Gotten a plywood floor on one of the bathrooms.
Kept the place mowed.
Replaced the main water line due to a leak that couldn't be found in the one we put in two or so years ago.
Gone fishing several times.
Played with mending clothes.
And are now into picking up pecans.
Watched a humming bird today.
And a Pileated Woodpecker.
And a hawk flew over my head to land in an oak tree in the pasture.
No pictures of the hawk though, I was picking pecans at the time.
Maybe I have a picture I haven't posted yet.
Oh. I know. We have a pecan tree that we are trying to get the local electric company, or Department of Public Safety, to trim for us because we don't have $2000 to do it ourselves -- and they would have to be there for it to be done anyway!
Both of them have been contacted by us several times to try and mitigate our liability if something should happen and the 'branch' come down by an act of God. I use branch loosely because the trunk is actually divided somewhere above the fence line and one half is what goes over the power lines and half of the roadway.
Oh well.
God bless! ♥
Looks as if you've been updating quite a bit. :P
ReplyDeleteReckon why the city/county won't trim that tree? I've always known them to handle situations like this. Our fellers were just over here a month or so trimming trees.
I was getting worn out reading what you've been doing but I'm glad you're able to enjoy a little bit of outside too!
ReplyDeleteWe don't get charged if a tree falls on lines, at least here. Maybe they just wait until it falls??
ReplyDeleteWe had several trees that needed help when we moved here and Shane ended up taking many of them down. Good luck with your elec company -- I hope they act soon.
ReplyDeleteThey should be glad to come TOP the tree if it is in the line. If it isn't they will not cut it down. Power companies are only responsible for the right of way of the power lines.
ReplyDeleteAnyway that is how it works here.

Scary! I would let them handle it. I also thought it was their responsibility to handle things crossing onto the easements, such as with power lines.
ReplyDeleteLet us know how it goes! I'm glad you are taking time to enjoy yourselves and to not be too bogged down into all the work. At least the weather has been gorgeous!

The weather has been great, hasn't it? Wish we could bottle it for next summer.
DeleteIt's actually down right chilly tonight!
They did do some trimming - of the whole road. They're getting ready to repair the pavement.
Now that we are here full time, it's very easy to get bogged down, so we try to change things around.
Next week we're going to one of those 5th annual neighborhood yard sale things. Never been to one, so we're hoping for good weather for this one.
Thanks, Lana!
