Hubby's new power chair

If I remember right, it weighs 350 pounds. We went to the Lafayette Jockey Lot Flea Market yesterday, and he was able to go through all of it relatively easily with this chair, except for some of the entrances. The market had put gravel at all the entrances to create ramps, but weather has worn them down quite a bit.
He was very happy and said his chair will help him with flea markets and Air Museums.
He met an Air Force retiree while we were there, and they had a good chat, too.
As you can see, we had a gorgeous Saturday!

You can click on the pictures to make them bigger.

The little baggy is because the people who installed the lift and put the chair together (a small business does it for the VA) told us that keeping the controller dry was very important.
We do have a cover for the chair (which he won't use in nice weather because it blocks the rear view mirror more than the chair alone), but this is a little added extra.

So there you have it. We see many more flea market trips in our future!

You all be safe and God bless!

  1. That's a serious machine for a serious warrior. I'm glad that y'all have it and that you're able to add more mobility to your adventures.

    1. Yes! And we have even talked about maybe going fishing again, now that he has a good seat that he can use. That will be fun, too!

  2. I have yet to understand why they only give people an indoor-rated controller on a chair that can easily handle outdoors.

Sometimes the bureaucracy just makes me want to start swinging with a bat.

  3. Looks sturdy. I know my father in law has greatly benefitted from a device that allows him to ably motor around.

  4. Funny - I was getting ready to say that was a very serious machine, but LL beat me to it. That being said, it's a very serious chair, and the hoister upper thingy is pretty cool too. God bless.

    1. We couldn't use it without that hoist. Very heavy chair. We'd have to take our boys with us everywhere!
      Thank you, Adrienne. Blessings.

  5. Dad had one like that and he loved it, especially since his house sat on a hillside. Our mailbox was on the downhill, and he enjoyed wheeling out of the driveway and down to the box and visiting there with neighbors. Only had the battery die once and had to push him back up the hill in that thing, I kept the batteries well charged after that...lol

    1. I keep wanting to plug it in, he keeps saying it's full. It has a gauge that shows battery level.
we'll see and hope it doesn't die quickly. Thanks, Brig!
