I don't post so much any more. Not so much excitement when you're retired. Most of it is personal stuff and I don't share a lot of that.
A week ago we went to one of our monthly flea markets. It's a nice flea market. But I think the oak trees are going crazy with all this global warming stuff.
I was, carefully I thought, going past an oak tree that had roots level with the ground. There are a lot of trees like that in this particular flea market.
Well, the tree didn't like me walking by. I tripped and fell. Praise God that I didn't break anything. My left knee is still swollen, and it aches a bit. I can walk pretty much fine.
I bruised my right knee also, but nowhere near as bad as my left leg.
I suppose if it doesn't start looking and feeling better in another week, I should go see my doctor.
But on a happier note, we went out for crawfish Wednesday night. They were great! Big, juicy, and spicy. :)
But, the season is almost over. Bummer. :(
Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. God bless.
Well, darn it Linda. Hope you heal soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, TB. I have noticed that it does tend to take a little longer when you get older. But God willing I will. :)
DeleteAnd it is sooo easy to trip even if you think you're paying attention.
ReplyDeleteI was walking the golf course one morning, and my toe must have hit a raised section of the paved path and I went flying. Scrapped up my knee and wrist. Fortunately, there was a water station nearby and I was able to rinse out the cuts but bled all the way home. Also fortunate, that I didn't break anything. You know at our age......
Hope you heal quick!
Prayers up for a speedy recovery. This getting old is really not for sissies is it. I have a foot that doesn't always pickup like it should (old horse injury) and try to be aware, but sometimes it trips me. Then I do the dance of the "I'm not going down easy". So far I haven't broken anything!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Brig. Yes, definitely have to watch ourselves. Glad you haven't broken anything!
DeleteHave a blessed week!
I am so wary of tripping and take special care. What scares me is it can happen so darn fast. Last time (a few months ago) I tripped on my hair dryer cord and sprained my hand. It seemed to take forever to heal. Be sure and ice your knee.
