We were out at the property doing laundry. Our old washer and dryer you may or may not remember, we got working by putting the washer in the kitchen and the dryer in the dining room.
There was a knock on the RV door and it was the man doing the... delivery work. He told us about a few things that he had reported, that the front door was open and the keys were in the kitchen. And he left.
After the laundry was done, we put the truck in 4-wheel and went over to the house to get the keys. Hubby has been under the weather for a few days so I went in. I apologize for the quality of pictures. I will take some more at some time.
Anyway, from the front door looking toward the kitchen-dining area.
There is sheet rock dust everywhere. The hole that was in one wall has been patched. I need to double check all the doorways that had cracks. The wall with the thermostat has been put back in place. Loose closet door frames reattached, etc.
A bad picture of the living room.
The second bathroom.
2nd and 3rd bedroom, sort of.
The only light is from the windows, or recessed lights. Light bulbs are on the shopping list, And now that I look closer those pictures may be of the same room. Haha.
"Dining" area.
I know you can't actually tell anything. Sort of sorry, but hubby was waiting and I was trying to see what all was what, since they didn't want us inside while anyone was working.
The kitchen light switches go to recessed lights. Not sure what else until we get light bulbs. But I know that one switch goes to two lights and the other goes to about five overhead lights. The switch closest to the living room turns on the two.
Few more pictures of the kitchen.
The last picture I cropped to show you the shipping strap that was on the stove. I tried to remove it but it is hung up behind the oven somewhere. Since it's gas I didn't want to pull too hard. We'll have to see if we can move it enough to remove the strap. Don't want it to melt first time I use the oven!
The two drawers there don't close right. Common problem as I understand. I made a note.
And a couple pictures of the master bedroom/bath area.
The 'fix' for the gas water heater. Need to take that panel off to see if there is an exhaust for the water heater now.
I'm curious to find out what this hose is, in the A/C furnace area, also,
And I'm wondering what we're supposed to do with this stuff that got... left behind? And I haven't looked in the box yet.
That's pretty much it for now. I will probably try to do better pictures of some areas. We don't do Better Homes and Gardens though so not sure what all you will finally see.
You all be safe and God bless.
Looks very nice!
ReplyDeleteThe cans could be leftover paint. We got some when they painted out house so we'd have 'touch-up' paint.
Sounds like moving day soon!
Ah. Yeah. They will have to move to the shed then. Space will be at a premium until we get organized. :)
DeleteLOVE the flooring, Linda. However, my itchy "love to paint" fingers are ready to start the walls (including that dark trim.) I think that trim detracts from the kitchen cupboards and the pretty floor.
ReplyDeleteLike you need anything more to do. :-)
DeleteAdrienne, haha. By the time we shoehorn everything in that we could salvage from that big old farmhouse, you might not even see that trim. :)
DeleteTruthfully though, I thought the cupboards were going to be darker. Not sure what happened there.
Thank you, Adrienne!
Next big purchase is going to be a storm shelter, if we can find someone to do it for us.
Yep. Storm shelter before trim. Cupboards go well with the floor. And the wood trim on the tub? Lovely!!!
DeleteThank you, Adrienne!
DeleteThis is very exciting! Yay!
ReplyDeleteThank you, TB. :)
DeleteWhen we got our home after the Valley fire, they left 5 cans of paint.
ReplyDeleteInterior and exterior. We definitely need it. Lots of cracks due to earthquakes.
You are probably right, Denise. Thank you. :)
DeleteIt looks so nice. You must be getting excited.
ReplyDeleteWe are excited and anxious both! Thank you, Henny. :)
DeleteI'm so glad that you're ready to call this brand new place home! I love the space, and that kitchen!! And while I hate the moving in part, it's always fun to decorate and make it your own! 🖤
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kim. We are definitely looking forward to making it ours. :)
DeleteMay the new place be a source of blessing & peace.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Reverend.
DeleteLooking good, but I have a suggestion for future photos and posts. Like so many you take your photos in portrait position (with the phone up). You photos would have more life if you took the photos with the phone on its side in landscape position. OR, you could tell me to mind my own business.
ReplyDeleteHaha. I will try to remember to take a few in landscape mode for you, Odie. ;-)
