About Me

Retired, housewife, mother of three. Picking up the pieces after God decided the 145 year old farmhouse was no longer the house for us. Praise God for His mercy and love!

Please disreguard the mess.

I honestly believe someone who does not cook must have designed this kitchen...

Stove, obviously.

Sink.

Distance from one to the other.

I am still thankful though. Don't get me wrong, just wondering how much water I will be spilling.  😛

You all be safe and God bless.

  1. Our kitchen is similarly laid out. Don't fill your pans too full. :-)

    1. I will do my best to remember that. And probably keep a pitcher nearby. :)

  3. It is a nice, new kitchen. Also, probably made for the designer's convenience, not the users's.

  4. Ditto on designer's lack of concern. But at least you're in the new place, so there's that. :)

    1. Amen, Reverend. Praising God and hoping for some hot water soon. :)

  5. I will admit it is a very weird layout. I never thought about kitchen design other then most kitchens are just too darn big. My stove is right next to my sink. However, I would gladly kill for that sink. I lust after a farmhouse type sink and that's about the prettiest one I've ever seen.

    1. When we did the kitchen in the old farmhouse, the stove was right near the sink also. :)
We wanted a single sink for washing big pans, but the builder said they couldn't get one but could get this one. So we said okay. :)

  6. Sorry I'm late.

Our last layout had the stove in the island. Nice and close.

  7. I think most "modern" kitchens are designed by people who don't really cook!
