For Odie

August 2013. Wally Gator came to visit. I was mowing. He was not impressed with the tractor.

When pressed, he went around the oak tree.

Hubby decided to lasso him.

And we took him back across the street to his bayou home.

He was not thankful.. ;-)

We're glad he didn't show up for the reunion. No telling what the little kids would have thought.

There you have it, Odie :)  Wally Gators have round noses. Crocs have pointed noses. :-D

You all be safe and God bless.

Trees

Been some hard few years here in Louisiana. Between weather and drought. But I took a few pictures when I was out in some nice weather the other day.

Corner oak today.

In 2010 it had a circumference of roughly 283 inches. I have not measured it since then because of things, haha.

And the gate oak. It has suffered a bit more, but is still a tree that draws me.

When I measured this tree in 2010, it had a circumference of roughly 254 inches.

When we moved here in 2012, we wondered about the trees and had the local AG center come out in 2013. They said Louisiana had been having a drought before then, so they were mostly just stressed.

So, drought, weather and drought. I still thank the Lord for the trees we still have. :)

You all be safe and God bless.

Low day

If I had known then what I know now, I would never have gotten a manufactured home.

Please forgive me, Lord. I DO give you the praise and the glory for watching over us and providing for us.

Thank you, Lord.

You all be safe and God bless.

Been a hot summer

And very dry. They are promising to prosecute anyone burning anything.

They had to back off of telling the LSU fans they couldn't tailgate this weekend at the game, though. The original announcement that it would not be allowed went over worse than a lead balloon, haha. They will allow the tailgate BBQs.

Old house looks cool enough in the hundred degree heat we've been having, don't you think?

We had a thunderstorm blow through. Lowered the temp to 78. It's starting to climb, but fortunately it's 1530, so not enough time to heat back up a lot. Not enough to stop the burn ban, but a blessing from the Lord all the same.

As is the generator He had us install. Whole house (the trailer / manufactured home is only 50x26) generator that we have needed four times now in the last two and a half weeks. No explanation from the electric co-op. Makes me thankful for the propane that our stupid government wants to outlaw.

Lord forgive me, but I hate the people behind the scenes that have too much money..

Flea market Saturday tomorrow!

You all be safe and God bless.
