Hubby told me about this tonight on the way home.
Supreme Court case could outlaw yard sales and eBay.
I certainly hope they understand that it could affect way more than eBay.
I hope they tread gently with this one.

We've had a couple of gorgeous days!
Not only that, but the BIL came down to help out. They did a lot of work in just two days, hubby and the BIL.
The result of that, is about a ton of scrap pipe, barbed wire, etc, on the trailer to be recycled.
Here is how rednecks load a trailer. ;o)
The log is braced against one of the pecan trees, pushing on a square block of wood, pushing against that... triangle of pipe that used to be part of the dairy barn.
I'll try to remember to take a picture of the full trailer to show you. They filled that Sunday.
(p.s. I forgot to take the picture, but it was 1580 pounds of barbed wire, fencing, old water pipes and duct pipe that could not be salvaged.)
Today, they were out working on clearing the pig pen.
While pushing a piece of sheet metal (roofing tin) up out of the ground, look at what we found!
BIL and hubby were both speechless at finding this underground cache. They think it's unusual to find pecans hoarded like that. Hubby cracked one and was surprised to find that many of them are from this year's crop!
And of course, clearing an area like this, you are bound to find live critters.
Hubby had moved him (her?) to the other side of the fence, and it decided to climb the bush to see just what was going on!
Hubby said it was a King snake. About 5 feet long. (Roughly 1.5 meters, if I figured it right.) They often eat other snakes.
Tomorrow his niece and her hubby are coming in for a funeral. We haven't seen them since 2008. Will be good to catch up.
Hope you are all doing well! ♥

From the fields
Behind and around our farmhouse.
They are mostly snow geese and Canadian geese, but there are a few sandhill cranes mixed in, too. Hubby has heard them.
He helped take the pictures, too.
Have a wonderful Friday! ♥

Let's see if blogger will be nice
And I'll try for my first post of the new year.
I am one of those people trying to grow celery from the heel. In my red neck planter, as you may remember.
Here are some updated photos of the celery.
It hasn't grown much more than others I've seen. After I rooted it in water, I transplanted it to the 'planter'.
Since it's an experiment, I'm not too worried if it doesn't grow - but I know it needs a long growing season.
And a shot of some of the 'store' garlic bulbs.
We have been getting a lot of rain. It just starts drying, and then we get more. It's mostly rained since Christmas, if I remember right. We've had a few nice days, but the ground hasn't really dried out, so I haven't been able to get many more pecans.
We do have... daffodils? Narcissus? Paper whites? Blooming. Growing wild, like the spider lilies.
And these little purple trumpet-shaped flowers.
Oops, sorry. Let me get this finished.
The purple flowers.
And these little yellow flowers haven't been bothered by the rain and cold either.
Hubby is feeling a little better, so hopefully some things in the house will go quicker. The kitchen is a mess, so you only get a couple of pictures...
My sink.
We decided on a single bowl so we could get the deepest possible sink - and I'll probably still end up using the utility sink we're going to put in the laundry room, for the big gumbo pots and fryers.
And a close-up of the patter on our counter top. That was a disaster for another post, if I didn't tell you already.
Anyway, I think that really is it for this post. Not thinking too clearly tonight, I guess, or I wouldn't have published this prematurely.
Those of you down South here, stay dry! Those of you needing rain in some form, hope you get it!
And those of you who have seen too much rain, I hope you dry out soon!
Have a wonderful Wednesday! ♥

Almost the end of the year
So Christmas day found us with crazy wet weather. Not as bad as Alabama or some others had; but we did get some hail.
And were pretty sure a tornado went North of us.
We had more rain today, too. I waited until today to take a couple of pictures.
I found this the day after Christmas. That is not what's left of a young tree, by the way. It's a branch from the oak tree.
But most of the water had dried up. Still, with Christmas and today, we have had a lot of rain. Wish I could send some North where it's needed, too.
Have a safe, enjoyable, last weekend of the old year!
