Oh well. Wanted to share some photos with you.
This first one shows the smoke we have been having since a forest fire started last month. We are in no danger yet. The fire is about 2 hours away. Peat bog forest. We need a long rain, and there is none in the future right now.
Fishing spot flowers.
And my bucket / bed garden. Yes, it is pitiful. I do not have my brother's green thumb for sure. But I am working on it. :)
The tomatoes and the cucumber (one of 6 plants my youngest got me for Mother's day) are the only things really growing well.
Happy Sunday to you all! :)
The capssicums wont like all the smoke in the air. Keep your tomstoes and cucumbers moist but not "wet" - use a hand microspray on the plants!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information, John! I'll look for something to do that. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a potted plant gal myself. Love them and will probably never be able to break away from them! About a green thumb...we both seem to struggle with which thumb will prevail, the black one or the green one...it's a toss up! haha At least it makes life interesting for us! Love your photos.
ReplyDeleteHaha. So true, Lana. So true. And as long as the green thumb prevails most of the time, things will be okay. :)
ReplyDeleteI guess I haven't experienced the New blogger yet.... hmmmm.... and we need rain bad too!
ReplyDeleteNicole, I hope you get your rain!
ReplyDeleteOh well not everybody can have green thumbs! But that fire, that's no good! Is it heading your way or does the wind/ direction of the fire change a lot?
ReplyDeletehave a good week!
Leontien
Leontien, I don't think it's headed this way. And I think there is enough water between it and us that I won't have to worry about that.
ReplyDeleteWe just need a good long rain to get that peat soaked and put the fire out.
And no, not everyone can have green thumbs, but hopefully I can make mine a little less black. ;)
Thank you. You all, too! :)
I think blogger has been giving everyone trouble these day! Sure wish they would get it together. You will learn more every year as you garden and each year will get better and better!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melodie. Practice makes perfect, I hope. :)
