About Me

My photo
Retired, housewife, mother of three. Picking up the pieces after God decided the 145 year old farmhouse was no longer the house for us. Praise God for His mercy and love!

Fortunately nature is not home bound.

Catalpa trees are blooming. Sorry for poor photos, but the blooms are way up at the tops of the trees, making them hard to photograph.

I'm just sad we never get catalpa worms. I blame all the spraying they do to farm the back field.

Still, right now it is a pretty day. Breezy. Supposedly rain in the afternoon. I know it was really foggy when I got up this morning. We'll see if it rains.

You all be safe and God bless.

  1. Okay - Since I've never lived anywhere there were catalpa trees my question is: why do you want catalpa worms? Inquiring minds want to know.

    1. Late reply. Catalpa worms make the absolute best fish bait. You can easily sell them for $10 a dozen frozen. I'd pay more to try to seed these and see if they would multiply. :-)

  2. Catalpa are supposed to be great for fence posts. Enduring wood.

    1. I had not heard that, TB. Around here they tend to use cypress or treated pine or some such.
