About Me

Doing okay.

Not a lot to say. Hubby has done a few things, but I keep reminding him to be careful.
Had a visitor to the pasture yesterday.
Sorry for the quality of the picture. Couldn't get closer. We tried, but it flew off before I could get more pictures.
He was being bombarded by mocking birds and blackbirds.
Never seen one in daylight. Of course it was almost nine o'clock at night...

Hope you've all had a wonderful day. ♥

Oh. Forgot to show you the 'sun shade' I made for the mower...

It worked for the most part -- until it came to the clothesline, and I had to take it off.

Have a good one. ♥

Just trying to stay out of trouble.

Hubby is doing well. The hardest part is getting him to not do anything. He is not one for sitting still.
The other day he changed the headlight bulbs on our sub-compact tractor.
Yesterday, he got the push mower started and rigged it so he could mow one handed!
Fortunately he didn't do a lot.
Where was I?
I was out mowing the 'pasture'.
Chaperoned by about ten 'cattle' egrets.

I like to see them come around. :-)

I keep reminding hubby that he doesn't want to have to go through the surgery again; so hopefully (God willing) the inside of his shoulder will heal quickly.

Hope you all have a good evening, and a wonderful week! ♥

Doctor said

surgery went well.
Fixed one torn tendon, the rotator cuff, and removed some arthritis.
Hubby decided he didn't care what other people thought, he went to sleep in bed -- big sling and all.
Now the fun begins.
How to keep him from trying to lift anything for the next two weeks.
I may not be around much. Spouses that are healing need a lot of care.
We had a little rain on the drive home, but thank the Lord, not a lot. I don't like driving. Never have. It's a necessary evil, but I don't like it. Especially not in a larger city where I don't know my way around.

I hope everyone who needs rain can get a little, too.

Hope you all had a wonderful day. Have a safe, wonderful weekend! ♥

So hubby told me today

That one of the kids that came to the reunion had problems in the bathroom because he didn't know how to use a bar of soap.
You read that right.
He didn't know how to use a bar of soap. He's ten.

His mother told us he only uses soap in a squirt bottle, implying that we were remiss by not having any.

Hah!

He should know how to use a bar of soap as far as I'm concerned.

Hubby thinks there is a deer in the neighborhood.

Any of you seen anything like this before?

This is one of the pecan trees we planted a couple years ago. We are hoping it will survive. The damage is pretty bad.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Not much to post about

Trying to do a bit of catching up today, blogwise.
Had a few friends over yesterday who hadn't been able to make it to the reunion. We did a small crawfish boil for them, with a little of our sweet corn that we managed to save from the 'coons...

I have a new respect for small farmers, that's for sure. :-)

We still have Wisteria blooming.
The cicadas are starting to make their noise music.

So, tomorrow I will be another year older, haha! We're going to see Despicable Me 2! Some days I start to feel it a little bit. Especially with all the changes to our lives this last year. I'll be... wait for it.... 29. Haha!! Sorry. Not really. I'll be 61. Gosh. Where does the time go?

And this Saturday we celebrate our 39th anniversary. We're thinking of going out to dinner. Want to do a few things we won't be able to do after hubby gets his shoulder surgery next Thursday the 11th. He's ready for it now, as he says it has been bothering him more and more.

For those of you who celebrate it, have a Safe, Happy 4th of July. ♥
